JUST IN: And Igboho Threatening Anyone Who Campaigns For Obi Or Atiku—Amadi On B’Haram Parading Kwara Victim

In a recent statement via his official X account, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Sam Amadi, has raised concern over the state of Nigeria’s political environment following reports of insecurity and alleged political threats ahead of future elections.

“This is where we are and everyone has decamped to the ruling party and Sunday Igboho is threatening to kill anyone who campaigns for Obi or Atiku in Yoruba land. This is the best Tinubu can do after taking two decades to prepare to be President. This is a big shame,” he wrote.

‎In his post, Amadi said the situation in the country reflects a troubling moment where many political actors appear to be aligning themselves with the ruling establishment and expressed worry that the political space is becoming increasingly hostile to dissenting voices and opposition supporters.

‎According to him, this trend weakens democracy and discourages citizens from freely expressing their political preferences, his reaction followed reports circulating online, including a video shared by Sahara Reporters, which alleged that insurgents from Boko Haram demanded a ransom of billions of naira after abducting residents from a community in Kwara State.

‎Amadi linked the insecurity and the tense political climate to what he described as poor leadership and weak institutions and suggested that the country had expected stronger governance after the emergence of President Bola Tinubu, who spent many years preparing for national leadership.

‎In his view, the current security and political challenges represent a disappointment for citizens who hoped for decisive solutions and reacted to allegations involving Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho.

‎Amadi criticized claims that threats were being made against anyone campaigning for opposition figures in the South-West and warned that such rhetoric, if true, could inflame ethnic and political tensions in the country.
