JUST IN: BAT In his Wisdom Refused To Give NNPC GMD To A N’Delta Son, And Gave It To Somebody From Kwara–Igbe

A Niger Delta leader, Anabs Sara-Igbe, has criticised the decision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint the head of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) from outside the oil-producing region.

In a video shared by SYMFONI TV, Sara-Igbe said many people in the Niger Delta had demanded that the position of Group Managing Director should go to someone from the region because it produces most of the country’s oil and gas. According to him, the request was ignored and the role was instead given to Bashir Bayo Ojulari, who is from Kwara State and currently heads the national oil company.

He argued that someone from the Niger Delta would better understand the environmental damage and daily struggles faced by communities where oil is produced. Sara-Igbe said oil exploration has brought serious pollution to the region, affecting rivers, farmland and the air people breathe. See More/Details
