JUST IN: By the Time You Spend Two Days in Edo, You and Your Wife Will Vote for Tinubu, Okpebholo Tells Abati

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has issued a challenge to prominent journalist Reuben Abati of Arise TV during a political engagement on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

The Governor extended a formal invitation to the veteran broadcaster, promising to send a special letter to facilitate a personal tour of Edo State.

Okpebholo expressed absolute confidence in the progress made under his administration, asserting that if Abati and his wife spent just two days witnessing the ongoing developments, they would be convinced to vote for President Bola Tinubu.

The Governor offered to personally drive the couple from one project site to another, claiming that even a week would be insufficient to see everything, though a few days would suffice to change their political stance.

Okpebholo said, “I will use this opportunity to invite Reuben Abati of Arise TV. I will also write you a special letter. By the time you spend two days in Edo, you and your wife will vote for Tinubu. I will drive them by myself. I will take them from one project to another project. One week is not enough to go around. But I’ll just take them around for few sides. Then we will know whether they will be the one to now go and start campaigning for Tinubu.”

This invitation was a direct response to a rigorous line of questioning from Reuben Abati regarding the feasibility of the Governor’s political promises.

Abati had specifically questioned how Okpebholo intended to secure 2.5 million votes for President Tinubu in Edo State during the 2027 general elections, given the competitive political atmosphere.

The journalist sought a clear roadmap for such a massive electoral feat in a state with complex voting patterns.

In a rebuttal, Okpebholo doubled down on his commitment to the President’s success.

He declared that his confidence was rooted in the tangible dividends of democracy being delivered to the people of Edo.

The Governor went as far as vowing to resign from his position if President Tinubu fails to emerge victorious in Edo State in 2027, effectively tying his political future to the President’s performance.
