In a recent interview, Adekoya explained that she became pregnant while still living under the strict expectations associated with being a pastor’s daughter. Overcome by fear, shame, and uncertainty about how her parents and church community would react, she kept the pregnancy secret for five months.
During that period, she said she avoided going home but continued attending the same church where her father had served faithfully for nearly two decades.
According to her, the burden of the secret eventually became too heavy to bear, prompting her to confess the situation to her parents through a text message.
