In a discussion on Arise Television, Dele Momodu, a key figure in the African Democratic Congress, recounted his visit to the hometown of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Jada.
He recalled, “When I visited Jada last year, I observed the terrible state of the roads, which prompted Alhaji to express his concerns to me. He said, ‘Oh, Dele, I hope you can manage your trip,’ and I assured him that it was fine.”
Momodu noted that this experience prompted him to ponder the political decisions of individuals who later aligned themselves with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He questioned, “What benefits have you really gained from the APC that led you to join them? I remember how Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was present on election day to ensure fairness, and now you are collaborating with those who manipulate the system.”
Reflecting on the political shifts in the country, Momodu suggested that the recent party-switching by politicians raises important questions about the tangible benefits their communities have gained from these new alliances.
