Screen diva and stage producer Damipe Adekoya has revealed the spiritual reason behind her father’s decision to change his original family surname, noting that he was determined to shield his children from generational struggles.
While explaining her father’s initial reluctance to let her study theatre arts, she disclosed that her family has a history steeped in deep cultural and traditional battles. Her father, having transitioned into the Christian clergy, deliberately altered the family name to sever ties with the past.
