According to a report by Daily Post News, on Thursday, March 05, 2026,Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, assured residents of continued development projects in Kuje Area Council following the support given to candidates aligned with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the recent council elections.
Wike gave the assurance on Thursday during a thank-you visit to Kuje Area Council to appreciate residents for their support during the polls.
He addressed traditional rulers, political leaders and community members during the visit.
Wike said the visit was organised to acknowledge the role played by residents in the electoral process and to reaffirm the commitment of the Federal Government to the development of the area.
He stated that the administration recognises the participation of the people in the council elections and considers it important to maintain engagement with communities after the polls.
Wike explained that ongoing and planned projects across the Federal Capital Territory would also benefit Kuje Area Council.
He noted that infrastructure, public facilities and community services remain part of the development agenda being implemented across the territory.
According to him, the government will continue to execute projects that directly affect the daily lives of residents.
Wike emphasised that political leadership requires accountability to the people who participate in the democratic process.
He said elected leaders are expected to maintain contact with communities and ensure that their actions reflect the expectations of voters.
The minister explained that governance should reflect the trust given by the electorate.

“ It is not where our people vote for you and at the end of the day you disappear,” Wike said.
