JUST IN: Of 22 Ministers From 17 States Of Southern Nigeria In Govt Of Tinubu 11 Or 50% Are From SW—Odinkalu

Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, a human rights lawyer and former chairman of Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission, recently expressed worries about the regional distribution of ministerial appointments under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a statement made through his official X account.

Eleven of the 22 Ministers from the 17 states in southern Nigeria in @officialABAT’s @NigeriaGov, representing 50%, are from the SW. According to Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, 12 or 44. 44% of the 27 ministers representing the 19 northern states are from the Northwest.

Out of 22 ministers chosen from the 17 states in southern Nigeria, 11 are from the South West region, which, as Odinkalu emphasized in his post, shows a substantial concentration of appointments in that area.

He continued by saying that 27 ministers were chosen from the northern portion of the nation, which includes 19 states, and that 12 of them—about 44 percent of the total—are from the North West region, implying that this also shows a clear trend in the distribution. See More In Details…
