Crisis is rocking Edo State chapter of African Democratic Congress (ADC), as former governor of Edo State, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, locked out ex-Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Roland Owie, from a caucus meeting.
Odigie-Oyegun was said to have summoned the meeting at his home without inviting Owie and some party chieftains, who tagged themselves as financiers of the party.
Others shut out are Sunny Aguebor and a national leader of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Douglas Iyike.
Sources said Odigie-Oyegun scheduled the meeting for his residence and gave list of attendees to his security personnel.
The sources said Owie and others stormed the meeting and were locked out because their names were not on the list.
They took over entrance to the house of Odigie-Oyegun, but were resisted by some youths of the party.
It was a unit of police officers that talked to the members, who later left Odigie-Oyegun’s home.
Senator Owie, who called on the national leadership of ADC to call Odigie-Oyegun to order, said the meeting was supposed to be attended by founding members of the party.

He said: “We that are here are founding members of ADC. We are supposed to have a meeting today. Chief Odigie-Oyegun, who has not done anything to support the party in this state, is calling non-members to a meeting and excluding those who are statutory members. As a matter of fact, the senatorial meeting was to be called up to four or five times, he stopped it. He would postpone it. As we are talking, we have been everywhere in this state, especially here in Edo South where we are right now raising members for the party. Ask him how many people he has attracted to this party?
“We are telling the national leadership of the party that enough is enough of Odigie-Oyegun. This was how he was as the national chairman of APC and he was removed with ease. Enough is enough. He cannot disrespect those who are building the party.”
Chief Odigie-Oyegun promised to speak on the matter after the meeting.
