JUST IN: Reactions as Sen Natasha Akpoti Unveils Days, Time and Phone Number Her Constituents Can Call Her On

There were mixed but largely positive reactions after Senator Natasha H Akpoti announced a new engagement initiative for her constituents on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in a post shared on her official Facebook page.

The Kogi Central lawmaker introduced a weekly interactive session titled “Let’s Talk, Kogi Central! One Minute With Your Senator.” She provided a phone number for constituents to call and stated that the session would hold every Saturday between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm.

Following the announcement, several Facebook users commended the move, describing it as a bold and inclusive step toward strengthening communication between the senator and the people she represents.

One user, Ohu Nè Nè Sally, wrote, “It was great speaking to you mummy,” suggesting that the initiative may have already begun receiving calls.

Audu Abdulsamad also reacted positively, advising that the session could be expanded into a live broadcast format. “To my distinguished senator, it would also be a good idea if you make it a live section. God bless you ma’am!” he wrote.

Another commenter, Ahmed Optimism Yusuf, described the development as unprecedented, saying, “First time a senator is dropping contact for her people to have conversation.”

Some supporters praised her leadership style and empowerment programmes. A Facebook user identified as Smart Prince wrote that the move signaled a shift from “harsh politics” to a more modern, impact-driven approach. He further commended her for initiatives in empowerment, craft education, and job opportunities, adding that Kogi Central residents desired continuity in her representation.

There were also lighter reactions, with some constituents expressing eagerness to call. Obande Joseph commented humorously that he would be the first to dial the number at noon, while Vickky Queensley asked if she could call earlier than Saturday because she had “a lot to tell you.”

Others used the opportunity to express broader political support. Aminu Aliyu stated that not only Kogi Central residents were backing her, adding that some were praying for her to become the next Senate President.
