PDP stalwart Arch Uche Rochas has stated that no southern presidential candidate can defeat a southern incumbent in Nigeria, a claim that has generated significant discussion on social media.
Speaking via his X account on Saturday, Rochas said, “If a southern candidate had challenged the incumbent Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 Nigerian presidential election, GEJ would have won by a landslide. The same situation still applies today: no southern candidate, no matter how popular, can defeat a southern incumbent. It is practically impossible.”
The post elicited varied responses from users. One wrote, “Atiku’s logic. That’s why he’s been running against every sitting president (North or South) since forever. Keep campaigning for him. He doesn’t care about zoning. After Buhari, na Atiku still. It’s Atiku every 4 years. Keep marketing the 80yrs old man. He’s the best.” See More/Details
