JUST IN: We’re 100 Percent Confident, That We’ve The Law Requirement, That Requires INEC To Register Us–Ardo

Umar Ardo, the primary driver behind the African Democratic Alliance, said he is fully confident that his party has complied with all legal requirements for registration.

Ardo insisted that, based on the provisions of the law and the documents submitted to the court, the party has met every criterion necessary for the Independent National Electoral Commission to grant official recognition.

He emphasized that the pursuit of a new political platform is driven by conviction and not by personal interest or outside influence, aiming to clarify misunderstandings about his motivations.

Ardo highlighted the legal and administrative challenges the party has faced since its inception, underlining the complexities involved in establishing a new political movement within the country’s regulatory framework.

He also addressed speculation linking him to the current administration, making it clear that such claims do not reflect the party’s goals or strategies.

Ardo maintained that the central mission of the African Democratic Alliance is to create a credible opposition platform ahead of the 2027 general elections, providing voters with a viable alternative in the political landscape.

The party’s journey to official recognition has been marked by fluctuations in its regulatory status, reflecting the difficulties new political organizations often encounter in navigating the electoral approval process.

Initially, the African Democratic Alliance was part of a select group of fourteen organizations shortlisted by the electoral commission for potential registration, a notable achievement given that over one hundred and seventy groups had applied.

Ardo described the process as both rigorous and competitive, underscoring the party’s commitment to meeting all procedural requirements and demonstrating its readiness to operate within the legal boundaries set by the electoral body.

Ardo said, “But we believe, based on the provisions of the law, what we have presented to the court, we are confident, 100% confident, that we have met each and every requirement of the law that requires INEC to register us.”
