Kogi High Court Judge Dies, Ododo Mourns

The Kogi State Government has announced the death of Justice Yahaya Adamu of the Kogi State High Court, describing his passing as a significant loss to the state’s judiciary and legal community.

Naija News reports that the announcement was made in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo.

Fanwo described the late jurist as a man of integrity who upheld the principles of justice and the rule of law throughout his career.

“Until his demise, Justice Yahaya Adamu stood as a distinguished pillar of the judiciary, renowned for his unwavering commitment to justice, integrity, and the rule of law,” the statement read.

“His contributions to the administration of justice in Kogi State earned him widespread respect and admiration across the legal community and beyond.”

The commissioner disclosed that the state made concerted efforts to ensure the judge received adequate medical attention during his illness.

“During his period of illness, deliberate efforts were made to ensure he received the best possible medical care.

“Despite these interventions, his passing remains a painful and profound loss to his family, the judiciary, and the entire state,” he added.

The Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, also paid tribute to the late judge, describing him as “a reputable voice in the temple of justice.”

According to the governor, Justice Adamu’s experience, wisdom, and dedication to fairness will be sorely missed within the legal system.

The state government noted that the late jurist’s legacy of service and commitment to justice would continue to inspire future generations in the legal profession.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Kogi State, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Kogi State Judiciary, and all who were touched by his exemplary life of service,” the statement added.

“We pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest and comforts all who mourn him.”

Justice Adamu’s death marks another moment of mourning for the judiciary in Kogi State, as colleagues, legal practitioners and associates reflect on his years of dedicated service to the bench.
