Fresh details have emerged on the deadly attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, with the Chairman of the council, Abubakar Danladi, providing further accounts of the violence.
The details were disclosed during a visit by the Kwara State Governor to the Emir of Kaiama, Emir Omar Muazu, according to a report by Channels Television on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Speaking during the visit, Danladi recounted how local vigilantes were targeted during the attack on the community. “The vigilantes who are seated in their office, numbering about ten, twelve of them. They tried to shoot them. The gun didn’t penetrate them,” he said. He continued, “They pushed them into the office and burned those young men into ashes.” Danladi said remnants of the victims were seen at the scene. “In fact, one or two, we saw the corpse, the skull,” he stated.
The chairman also described the broader devastation witnessed across the community following the assault. “What we saw there is like a film that we do watch in movies.
I am a medical personnel. I have never seen corpse like that in my life,” he said. According to him, the number of victims observed at different locations was significant. “To count up to 75 corpses that we saw, aside those that got burnt, unidentified,” Danladi stated.
He added that the recovery of victims was still ongoing at the time of the visit. “As we speak, there are still corpses in the bush because they are ambushing them,” he said. Danladi explained that the attackers operated within the community using ambush tactics. “They ambush them in the village,” he stated.
