In a recent video on Church Gist, Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has raised concern over rising insecurity and what he described as a growing lack of value for human life in Nigeria. Speaking during a church service, the cleric lamented recent violent incidents across parts of the country, including attacks on communities, a disrupted wedding in Kaduna, and the killing of a young man in Jos.
He said the developments reflect a deeper societal problem involving both leadership and followership, stressing that citizens must also take responsibility by showing compassion and courage when lives are in danger. According to him, national progress becomes difficult when insecurity persists and human lives are treated with little importance.
Enenche referenced a viral video showing a young man being attacked while passersby allegedly failed to intervene. He questioned why people would watch such an incident unfold without attempting to rescue the victim, noting that collective inaction contributes to the worsening crisis.

“People were standing and watching the person that they kill… that person that they kill, four, five people only. Nobody is saying enough to step down of the car. I say please all of you stop, let’s go and rescue this boy,” he said.
The cleric added that beyond blaming authorities, citizens must develop a culture that prioritizes the protection of life. He warned that indifference, selfishness, and social media distractions are weakening the moral fabric of society and allowing violence to continue.
He further called for swift arrest and prosecution of perpetrators of attacks across the country, stressing that justice must be visible and timely to deter future crimes. Enenche concluded by urging both leaders and citizens to act decisively, saying the nation must demonstrate seriousness in addressing insecurity and restoring confidence in the value of human life.
