Sambo Warns Against Making Electronic Transmission Protest a Peter Obi Matter

Director of News, Arise Television, Sumner Sambo, has urged more opposition leaders to join the protest over the Electoral Act amendment.

Speaking in an interview on ‘Prime Time’ monitored by DAILY POST on Monday, Sambo said the protest should not be made like former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s thing.

Recalls that Obi on Monday joined the “Occupy National Assembly” protest against the rejection of e-transmission of election results by the Senate.

Reacting, Sambo said, “If you look at what they are doing, it’s akin to what actually happened prior to 2014 and close to 2015 when you have the likes of Buhari, El-Rufai and all of that on the back of vehicles all going around to actually kick against some of the things that the PDP was doing while in power then.

“And I’m very sure that if President Tinubu was in the opposition now, he would have joined the team. So I mean, whatever they did today is actually what’s expected of them.

“I expected more opposition leaders to come out. They should not just make it a Peter Obi thing

“More opposition leaders should have come out; where was Atiku? Are they really serious about this, or are they just mouthing it because citizens want it?

“But the opposition should actually wake up and do more, because these guys who are in government now while they were in the opposition, I can tell you that this government wouldn’t have been sleeping fine by now.”
