In a recent video on YouTube, Nigerian preacher William Folorunso Kumuyi has declared that opposition to gospel preaching stems from spiritual forces determined to keep people in bondage.
Speaking during a recent evangelistic message at the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Kumuyi said the proclamation of the gospel directly challenges the grip of Satan over individuals he described as “slaves.”
“Satan doesn’t like the preaching of the gospel because the preaching of the gospel is going to snatch the slaves away,” Kumuyi told worshippers. “He wants all his slaves to remain. He incarcerates them, imprisons them, holds them down.”
The veteran pastor charged believers who see themselves as soul winners to recognize the spiritual weight of their calling. “If you are called as a soul winner, you are called as a minister to get those people he’s holding on to,” he said. “He wants to take them to hell by all means.”
Kumuyi urged Christians to resist that agenda through steadfast evangelism. “Your crossway is to say no, you will not take this one to hell,” he declared. “You grab that person by the preaching of the word and you lead them to repentance and conversion in the Lord.”
According to Kumuyi, such conversions provoke spiritual resistance. “Satan doesn’t like that. He will want to put all that ministry out of your hand,” he warned.
However, he encouraged believers to remain resolute. “It’s when you have grit, you hold it fast and you say, ‘Not even Satan,’” Kumuyi said.
Congregants responded with amens as the pastor concluded by affirming the hope of eternal life, urging Christians to continue declaring, “I am on my way to heaven,” despite opposition.
