Arsenal F.C. included several young players in their starting line up during their FA Cup fifth round match against Mansfield Town F.C..
The FA Cup has often served as an opportunity for clubs to give promising young talents valuable playing time, and Arsenal continued that tradition during the fixture at Field Mill.
Manager Mikel Arteta made several changes to the team that secured a 1–0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. earlier in the week. As part of the rotation, he included a number of younger players in the squad.
Among them was 16-year-old Max Dowman, who returned to competitive action after recovering from a recent ankle injury. Another teenager, 16-year-old Marli Salmon, was also named in the starting line-up.
Their inclusion meant Arsenal began the match with two players aged 16, highlighting the club’s willingness to provide opportunities for young academy talents.
