Public affairs analyst Dr. Mahmud Jega has revealed that he is a member of a community WhatsApp platform in Zamfara State where residents actively report bandit movements in real time.
Speaking on Arise TV, Jega described how the Zamfara platform operates. “I am a member of one platform — a WhatsApp platform in Zamfara State. Even late at night, you see messages from people reporting that bandits are moving from one village to another village. And they call on the forces to take action. And I understand that the Zamfara Police Command and the Army are all on that platform — they see these reports and are able to respond, if they can,” he said.
Jega acknowledged that security forces cannot always act on every report, but argued that community involvement at least gives them a fighting chance. See More/Details
