According to NewsVista Reporter, former NHIS executive secretary Professor Usman Yusuf has sparked serious debate over how Nigerian security agencies handled an alleged coup plot. A detailed breakdown of why people think TINUBU will win this coming 2027 election has been published on NewsVista.
Speaking on Trust TV, Yusuf warned that the issue goes beyond arrests and touches national unity and trust.
He revealed that out of 35 officers accused, 33 are northerners and about 99 percent are Muslims, stressing that such a sensitive matter must be managed carefully to avoid ethnic or religious tension. “This is not a joke,” he said.
Yusuf questioned why authorities discussed the case publicly before court proceedings, saying it weakens confidence in the justice system. He also pointed out inconsistencies, noting the issue was first called a disciplinary matter before being labeled a coup plot.
He urged transparency, respect for due process, and protection of democracy.
