Tuareg Residents Visit Kaduna Cleric, Pledge Support for Interfaith Harmony

In a show of interfaith solidarity, the National President of Tuareg Residents in Nigeria, Alhaji Ali Mohammed Agadez, led a delegation to visit Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru at his residence in Kaduna South, where they congratulated him on completing the 40-day Lenten fasting and prayers.

The visit aimed to strengthen existing ties between the two communities and promote peace, unity, and mutual respect among people of different religious backgrounds.

Agadez recalled the cleric’s visit to the Tuareg community during Sallah celebrations, which encouraged peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance, and understanding.

“We are delighted by Pastor Buru’s visit to us at the end of Ramadan. Today, we are here to reciprocate that gesture by congratulating him on completing Lent and to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and friendship between us,” Agadez said, emphasizing the need for ongoing engagement and exchange visits to enhance unity and peaceful coexistence.

Pastor Buru, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, appreciated the Tuareg delegation’s Easter visit and message of goodwill.

He described Nigeria and the Niger Republic as sister nations with shared history and cultural ties, stressing the importance of continued prayers and collective efforts toward peace and unity across Africa.

“We are one family under God, worshipping the same God and guided by holy scriptures. This calls for us to live together in peace, love, and harmony,” he said, urging youths across African nations to reject violence and drug abuse, and instead, embrace peace and act as responsible, law-abiding citizens for societal development.

The visit highlights the strong relationship between Nigerians and citizens of Niger residing in Northern Nigeria, with Pastor Buru revealing that he maintains close ties with many friends from Niger, who regularly send him Easter, Christmas, and New Year greetings.

As the two communities continue to foster interfaith harmony, Agadez and Pastor Buru called on all African youths to be ambassadors of peace, promoting unity and understanding within their communities.
