According to a report by BBC on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, issued a strong response to remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump, who warned that Iran could face severe consequences and suggested he could “disappear” the Iranian official.
Larijani rejected the warning, asserting that the Iranian people would not be intimidated by threats from Washington.
“The Ashura people of Iran are not afraid of your empty threats,” he said.
He added that Iran has withstood pressure from powerful adversaries throughout its history and would continue to resist external intimidation.
“Greater than you have failed to eliminate the Iranian nation,” Larijani said, emphasizing the resilience and unity of the Iranian population.
The Iranian official also issued a direct caution to the American leader.
“Beware lest you be the one who disappears,” he said.
The exchange of statements reflects escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, as the confrontation continues to draw international attention. Officials on both sides have delivered sharp public remarks in recent days while military and diplomatic developments unfold across the Middle East.
Iranian authorities have repeatedly stated that the country will respond firmly to what they describe as threats to its sovereignty and national security.
Meanwhile, officials in Washington continue to maintain pressure on Tehran through political, economic, and military measures linked to the ongoing regional confrontation.
Diplomatic channels remain closely watched by international partners, as governments assess whether the escalating rhetoric could further complicate efforts to reduce tensions and prevent a wider regional crisis.
