Joshua Iginla, a prominent Nigerian preacher, has issued a cautionary message to political leaders and their supporters as the country gradually moves toward another election cycle, warning that rising political tensions could turn campaign activities into confrontational events if not properly managed.
During a recent message to his congregation, the cleric spoke about the growing rivalry between the ruling party and opposition groups, suggesting that the atmosphere surrounding campaign rallies may become increasingly heated. He noted that political competition could shift from debates about policies to actions designed to publicly embarrass opponents.
According to Iginla, there may be organized efforts aimed at humiliating members of the ruling party during campaign events. He warned that such situations, if allowed to escalate, could provoke clashes among supporters and deepen divisions within the political space.
