As reported by The Jerusalem Post on April 6, 2026, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that Israel carried out an overnight operation in which it killed Asghar Bakri also known as Yazdan Mir or Commander Bagheri the head of Unit 840 within Iran’s IRGC Quds Force according to a post on X.
The announcement came amid continued tensions between Israel and Iran-linked forces across the region officials said Monday.
He added that Bakri was responsible for attacks targeting Jews and Israelis worldwide. Netanyahu also said Israel killed Majid Khademi, the head of IRGC intelligence, describing him as a senior figure who had recently assumed the post after his predecessor was killed.
