Candle stated: “In light of the recent ministerial nominations from other regions, we believe it is imperative to bring this significant disparity to Mr. President’s attention. We kindly urge the appointment of at least two more ministers from the Southeast.”

Acknowledging the President’s inclusion of young professionals in his government, the group argued that the Southeast possesses a reservoir of highly qualified young experts capable of assuming leadership roles, particularly in the Ministry of Youth Development. The group further elaborated: “With the nomination of Ministers of Youth Development from Kwara and Ondo States, the Southeast, comprising five states, stands as the sole region among the six without any additional ministerial representation. The South East APC Young Progressives Forum expressed their optimism and sincere hope that President Tinubu would consider their plea for an additional ministerial appointment from the South East.
