According to INEC, the Imo governor was re-elected with Imo people’s 540,308 votes, with his closest rivals from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party scrounging just 71,503 and 64, 081 respectively.
It’s quite significant that Governor Uzodimma won the election in the entire 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the State, thereby setting an unprecedented record of governorship election victory in the contemporaryhistory of Imo State.
It’s most inspiring that the election on November 11 was adjudged free, fair, safe, secure and peaceful by relevant government,election and security agencies and authorities.
It’s extremely motivating that in his victory acceptance speech, Governor Uzodimma his victory to a very wide spectrum of Imo people, who in one way or another contributed to the overwhelming successful outcome of the election.
The popularly re-elected, highly democratic, governor gave the glory of the victory to God and the people, because of his cognizance that politics remains a “let us go” partnership endeavour and enterprise, and never a sole trader venture.
It’s a sweet victory for the governor,his party APC and entire Ndimo. Indeed, it’s a renewal of hope in Imo State.
There are a lot of significances and implications deducible from the re-election, returning and retenance in Douglas House for the next four years.
The propensity is reassured and reconfirmed for the continuance and continuation of the governor’s good works, which he started in his first term.
For example, more roads will inevitably and unarguably be constructed across the State, just as all roads under construction will be completed, commissioned and opened to enhance easier movement and better life for Ndimo at home and abroad.
The very excellent healthcare delivery scorecard of the governor’s, with the novel free health insurance programme as one it’s major hallmarks, will be improved upon, as the primary health centres recovered and restored by the governor will receive necessary enhancement.
There’s no doubt that, with the guaranteed operation and operability of the major healthcare delivery facilities ~ Specialist General Hospital, Umuguma, Owerri; Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu; Federal University Teaching Hospital, Owerri; Arthur Nzeribe General Hospital, Oguta; Michael Uzodimma General Hospital, Omuma; General Hospital, Ohaji-Egbema, 240 primary health centres, and various community-based hospitals ~ the healthcare statuses and quotients of Ndimo will be better guaranteed.
After the failed efforts and attempts by enemies of the State to make the State ungovernable with unknown gunmen and agents of insecurity, Governor Uzodimma remarkably restored safety, security and peace in Imo State in his first term. That was globally acknowledged and internationally acclaimed.
In his second term, it’s so certain that seamless secured and guaranteed safety, security and peace shall remain the portion of Ndimo as Governor Uzodimma has promised to endeavour to ensure that Imo State remains safe, secure and peaceful at all times, as much as possible.
Over the past four years of his first term, the thorny dragon issue of non-payment of workers’ salaries and retirees’ pensions has been positively and successfully addressed by Governor Uzodimma.
The success, which has been commended by well-meaning Imolites, saw Governor Uzodimma introducing the payment of the 13th month, which increases the standard of living of Imo people during the celebration of Yuletide season.
One of Governor Uzodimma’s landmark achievements and accomplishments in his first term was the support he lent to the Charter of Equity vision, which the Imo State Elders Council configured to drive the equitable production of the successive governors of the State.
With Governor Uzodimma’s executive imprimatur on the vision, it’s strongly believed that in the 2027 governorship election, the hitherto rough roads to Douglas House over which zone produces the governor will be a non-issue, because it’s already premeditated, concluded and decided by the Imo State Elders Council, that Owerri Zone choice guber rep will be occupying Douglas House from January 2028, when Governor Uzodimma would completed his second term, magnanimously departed, and gallantly bowed out.
Obviously, it required the re-election of Governor Uzodimma to guarantee the sustainability and continuity of his good works for the overall good of the people, who actually made it possible for the status quo to subsist in Douglas House.
Therefore, Ndimo should be ready and available to continue supporting their governor to fulfill his great visions of exponential growth and development of the State and the empowerment of the people. In all honesty, it’s a victory for Ndimo!
