The Super Eagles of Nigeria, no doubt, would be proud of their outing at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast after coming second in the tournament. The Super Eagles team were defeated by the Ivory Coast in the final.
What followed suit after the finals was players were targeted online, especially Alex Iwobi who had to deactivate his instagram account following the bullying online. Speaking to shed more light on that, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, while on Arise News, said
“Everyone is desperate to win, everyone needs the cup even if you are playing against the biggest country, they want to win, which I understand, enjoy the spirit. For Alex Iwobi, if it had happened to me, I would break down, but it takes a strong man as it’s not easy. A lot of people are waiting for me to make a mistake and show themselves on the internet, but it’s not nice”.
