The statement made by Bishop Ufuoma was full of meaning and had triggered reactions with some people backing his submission while many others went off against him

As Pious Pascal said, the submission made by Bishop Ufuoma is not new to him because a pastor had long ago convinced him that spending for the church doesn’t guarantee any exceptional safety as many pastors do preach.

Pascal said “You notice this so late, I have known this since the days of Bimbo Odukoya of Single and Married who in one of her preachings stated that untimely death is not for Christians but eventually died in a plane crash.

Remarkably, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya lost his life in the ill-fated Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 which occurred on December 10, 2005. This is after she told her church members during a service that “untimely death is not the portion of any of them.”

Odukoya the statement after a series of citizens’ lives were cut short by many air crashes that occurred in Nigeria between 2000 and 2005. Between January 2000 and December 2005, there were records of 18 plane crashes across Nigeria.

Chibuzor backed Bishop Ufuoma’s submission claiming that the same thing occurred in the Bible when “In the Old Testament, Abel gave the highest burnt offering and Pastors used him as an example to collect from their members but did God protect Abel from untimely death? The answer is no! God did not. Even when God came down himself to accept the offering. God still came down to curse Cain. Just imagine if God came down to save Abel, there would be no need to punish Cain

“As a Christian, you can give everything you have to your pastors and still die a premature death, Chibuzor said.

Reacting to Bishop Ufuoma’s submission, Ochuko Imeke was of the position that “Accident is an accident. It has nothing to do with whatever one gives to a church or not. Moreover, the victims including the pilot who had technical control of the helicopter died along the line of duty. Only God can save.”
