Enraged by his son’s action, Udeh reportedly retrieved a gun from his room and fired at his son, resulting in the young boy’s death. Community members swiftly intervened, apprehending Udeh and restraining him beside his lifeless son.
While some accounts suggest Udeh used a sharp object on his son, the suspect, in a state of remorse, attributed his actions to the influence of evil forces, expressing regret for his deeds.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Abia State Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, stated that the matter was reported at the Umunneochi Division and the suspect had been apprehended.
