President Bola Tinubu’s directive on February 8 to release 42,000 metric tonnes of maize, millet, and other commodities from the national strategic reserves underscores the government’s dedication to addressing the escalating food prices. This directive was revealed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following a meeting of the Presidential Committee on Emergency Food Intervention.
