A woman who was sitting on park bench was robbed by two teenage boys who wielded a knife and kicked her in the face<<<READ FULL ARTICLE>>>

The 41-year-old was attacked at knifepoint in broad daylight in Sankey Valley Park, Warrington. She was approached by two boys close to the canal path. They threatened her as she sat on the bench and demanded she hand over all her belongings. Police say the woman was shocked by the incident and are keen to identify those responsible.

The LiverpoolEcho reports police are keen to hear from anyone who was acting suspiciously. Detective Sergeant Stephen Hopkins, from CID Reactive North, said: “This ordeal has left the victim considerably shaken and enquiries are currently underway to identify those responsible. As part of our investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and believes that they may have seen anything suspicious.”

Sankey Valley Park in Warrington where the incident happened Officers are also keen to glean all they can about the incident from CCTV or Ring doorbell footage in the area. DS Hopkins added: “I’d also ask residents in the area to check their CCTV or video doorbell footage to see if they have anything which may aid our investigation. The same goes for any motorists with any dashcam footage.”

Police found one man, in his 20s, with stab wounds close to a branch of McDonald’s and gave him medical assistance before he was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Two other men, both in their 20s, took themselves to hospital with knife wounds, detectives have said.

One of the men had a stab wound to the back and the second had a stab wound to the head. Officers believe that the stabbing is linked to an earlier incident involving a large group of men on Victoria Street, in the city.

A large cordon was put in place in Liverpool city centre and a number of roads were cordoned off while officers investigated.

Superintendent Helen Bennett then said: “Urgent CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are being carried out in the city centre and as such a large area has been cordoned off. It appears that a large disturbance took place on Victoria Street in which three people have been injured.
