In an interview with TVC News, Federal Lawmaker, representing Jada constituency of Adamawa State, Abdulrazaq Namdas, blamed the rapid increase of food prices on hoarding of food prices and insecurity<<<READ FULL ARTICLE>>>

He urged the federal government to allow security agencies to investigate warehouses where food stuffs are hoarded by some non-state actors who intend for the price to increase before selling it. Hence, causing food scarcity.

The former lawmaker said, “If a bag of rice is at N10,000, a man will hold it until it is N60,000 to N80,000, before he releases it to the market. Where the government has its own challenges, the people in business also have a problem. The Government should allow security agencies to go and check those mighty warehouses who have decided to hoard goods (food stuffs) and those who are waiting for the time it will increase.
