The fallen soldiers, serving with the 181 Amphibious Battalion, were on a peace-keeping mission to quell community clashes in Bomadi Local Government of Delta State when the incident occurred.

They also include Pte Alhaji Ish, Pte Clement Francis, Pte Abubakar Ali, Pte Ibrahim Adamu, and Pte Adamu Ibrahim.
No fewer than 16 soldiers including a Lieutenant Colonel, two Majors, one Captain and 12 soldiers were on Thursday killed by youth in riverside Ijaw and Urhobo communities of Delta state.
