She said that the study has paved the path for the NPF to use Artificial Intelligence in crime prediction so as to avert them beforehand.

She said application of AI has set a pace for advanced methods and models to be applied to crime prediction in the NPF.

The study said traditional methods used for crime prediction often rely on statistical models or expert knowledge, which may not necessarily capture complex patterns and dynamics inherent in crime data.

Dr Ikwen said that initial efforts to understand the correlation among the various data elements suitable for creating relevant patterns, which reveal the prevalent crime types and criminal behaviors across the state and Nigeria at large were laborious.
