In a statement by the institution’s public relations officer, Everest Nwosu on Thursday, March 28, said Dr. Ibeaja was appointed acting rector following the expiration of the tenure of Dr. Christopher Onyemenonu on March 10.
In a letter Ref DTE/Poly/1073/C. I/T/1/42 dated March 22, 2024, the Minister of Education appointed Dr. Ibeaja as acting rector with effect from March 11, 2024.

According to the statement, Ibeaja would remain the acting rector pending the appointment of a substantive rector in line with the Polytechnic Act as amended.
