1. Thiago Silva – 39

Thiago Silva

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva tops the list of the oldest players in the Premier League this season. The Brazil native is currently 39 but still showing his prowess when it comes to defending. He has been one of the standout players in Chelsea’s squad since his arrival in September 2020 and played a significant role in the UEFA Champions League triumph in May 2021.

Prior to joining Chelsea, Thiago Silva enjoyed spells at AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, winning most of the titles in his trophy cabinet with the latter.

2. Lukasz Fabianski – 38

Lukasz Fabianski is not only one of the oldest players in the Premier League but also one of the finest keepers we’ve ever seen in the league. Starting his career in his native Poland, Fabianski rose through the ranks and found himself at Arsenal in 2007. He was released by the Gunners in 2014 and after a spell at Swansea City, he joined West Ham United in 2018 and has since been playing in the Premier League.

Over the years, Lukasz Fabianski has kept over 90 clean sheets in the Premier League. He is currently 38 years old and will be turning 39 next month.

3. Ashley Young – 38

Ashley Young joined Manchester United in 2011 after four years at Aston Villa. With the Red Devils, he won’t on to achieve great success and left as the club’s captain. He had a short spell in Italy playing for Inter Milan and then returned to England signing with Villa in 2021.

4. James Milner – 38

James Milner is one name that wouldn’t have missed when discussing the oldest players in the Premier League players this season. Milner has been playing in the Premier League for over two decades now, enjoying spells with clubs such as Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool and currently Brighton & Hove Albion.

Fulham has the oldest squad in the Premier League this season, as per GiveMeSport. The oldest player in the club right now is Tim Ream who turned 36 last October. He plays as a centre-back but can also be deployed as a left-back. Tim has been playing for Fulham since 2015 when he joined from Bolton Wanderers.

Despite being 36, he is still one of the key players of the United States national team. He has so far made 56 appearances and serves as the vice-captain of the team.

6. Jonny Evans – 36

Jonny Evans made an unlikely return to his boyhood club Manchester United last summer. Some pundits and fans criticized the move because of Evans’ age but the defender has played a significant role in United’s campaign this season due to the injuries on the club’s first-choice defenders.
