The incident occurred in Jimjimi, near the border between Nigeria and Niger Republic, as reported by Umma Maikano, the council chairman of Gudu Local Government Area.
According to a reliable source, tensions escalated last Wednesday when Hausa individuals returned from the bush to discover that two of their community members were missing.
Suspecting the involvement of Fulani residents, they held them responsible for the disappearances.
Fearing the potential repercussions, the leader of the Fulani community instructed them to evacuate their settlements.
However, before they could do so, Hausa individuals reportedly attacked their area the previous night.
This led to the destruction of their makeshift huts and the tragic loss of two lives from the Fulani community.
The source stated, “In the days leading up to the tragic event, members of the Hausa farming community ventured into the bush for their usual activities, only to be met with an eerie absence of Fulani presence in their settlements, a departure from the norm.

“Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by the alarming sound of gunshots reverberating from various directions.
Expressing impartiality, the political head of the local government area, emphasized, “I refrain from taking sides in this conflict. My foremost duty is to ensure the protection of lives and property for all residents. Nevertheless, I am aware that casualties have been reported from both sides.”
