Bishop Yahaya however, said as painful as the present hard times are, Nigerians should imbibe the spirit of patience, sacrifice, patriotism and.above all absolute trust in God, “because there will be victory at the end”.

Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the Easter Sunday service to marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Anglican Cleric said the multifaceted problems of the country requires a pragmatic leadership.

“Billions of naira is spent on security and there is no security, billions spent on power and no power, moving forward as a nation, nationality and patriotism must be at the front burner and it must start with the leaders.

“The palliative is not commensurate with the hardship, how can you give a mudu ( measure) of rice to a family of 5 or more, how long can it take them, the government must be sincere in making lives of Nigerians better, welfare and wellbeing should be given priority

Bishop Yahaya who said mediocrity must be discarded if the people must achieve growth as a country also frowned at how sentiment, nepotism, corruption among other vices has become the order of the day to the detriment of competency.

While admonishing every citizenry to be patriotic in all that they do, he reiterated that the sacrifice for a better Nigeria must start from the presidency and trickle down to the ordinary people if the country must get it right.
