Trump emphasized reports indicating that approximately 46,000 Chinese nationals had crossed the Southern border over the past two years, raising the possibility of an influx of Chinese migrants into the country.
Trump’s concerns over ‘healthy, young’ Chinese men crossing border
Trump, the presumptive 2024 GOP nominee, has claimed that his administration achieved the “safest border in history,” but that President Joe Biden has undone his executive actions to secure the country’s borders.
The former POTUS has cited the arrival of Chinese migrants at the Southern border as evidence that China is attempting to establish a military presence within the United States, according to DailyMail.

“They’re probably building an army from within,” Trump remarked. “I mean, you look at what’s happening, because they’re very healthy young men for the most part.”
“They’re young, and they’re healthy. I see the pictures of them. I see them on television tapes, also,” Trump, 77, said. “I mean, these are young, healthy people.”
On Tuesday, the United States border patrol agents detained 182 Chinese citizens who had crossed the Southern Border into the United States.
The number of Chinese migrants in the San Diego sector has surpassed the number of Mexican citizens crossing into the US.
Per CBS, the US Customs and Border Protection reported that 37,000 Chinese citizens were apprehended in 2023, attempting to cross the border illegally from Mexico into the United States.
This number represents a 50-fold increase compared to the number of Chinese citizens detained two years ago.
The issue of migrants crossing the border has been the central topic of concern for the Trump campaign.
The MAGA figurehead has pledged to put an end to what he has referred to as “Biden’s Border Bloodbath” if elected to another term.
Host Hewitt also brought attention to China’s increasing military fleet, estimating that it could reach 425 ships in just a few years, while the United States Navy is intent on downsizing its fleet.
During his presidency, Trump admitted that he had plans to increase the number of ships built for the United States Navy. However, the former POTUS claims that his successor Biden canceled these plans.
“They look like yachts with lots of weapons on them, lots of weapons,” Trump remarked. “But, and they’ve really come out good. But we were giving out a lot of ships, and then this guy came in, and he has no idea what he’s doing.”
