According to Segun Ajiboye, the spokesperson of the Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation, suspected thugs allegedly affiliated with Aiyedatiwa have been responsible for violent incidents targeting Akinterinwa’s supporters and campaign billboards.

Ajiboye called for urgent intervention from security agencies to probe these attacks and ensure the safety of all political actors in the state.

In a swift rebuttal, Kayode Fasua, the Director of Information for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS), challenged the credibility of the allegations. Fasua pointed out that there are multiple governorship aspirants from the Southern senatorial district, besides Akinterinwa, and questioned why Aiyedatiwa is singled out for blame. He accused Akinterinwa’s camp of fabricating accusations without substantial evidence to tarnish Aiyedatiwa’s reputation.
