It was gathered that Boko Haram terrorists along Biu-Buni Yadi road, Borno State, ambushed the Lt. Colonel and his men, and killed them in a gun battle.

Following the tragic incident, The PUNCH’s report revealed that army troops on Saturday and Sunday stormed Grazah in Gwoza LGA of Borno State, previously known as a hideout for terrorists, and neutralized many of them.
Although some of the terrorists were killed, further report by MayerNews noted that many of them have fled to the Republic of Niger and Lake Chad to escape retaliatory attacks from the army.
It is worth mentioning that Borno State borders the Republic of Niger to the north, Lake Chad to the northeast, and Cameroon to the east.
According to Zagazola, air strikes by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai at Grazah in Gwoza LGA of Borno State yielded the requisite outcome.
The army said such operation, carried out deep into the terrorists’ enclaves, will continue because the terrorists use such areas as recruitment, training centres.
A security source said the soldiers paid a supreme price on their way to Damaturu to buy fuel.
“It’s very sad; they were soldiers of 135 Special Force BN FOB in Buratai. They were ambushed on their way to Damaturu, Yobe state, to buy fuel.
“Unfortunately, we lost an officer, a driver, gunner and four other escorts, while the wounded are in the hospital responding to treatment.
