George stated in an interview with Arise TV that Lagos only has 20 local government areas (LGAs), despite being the state in Nigeria with the biggest population. He stated Ogun State, which has 20 LGAs despite having a far lower population. He claimed that Kano State, which has 44 LGAs despite having a smaller population than Lagos, is even more remarkable. The former Kano State was divided into the state of Jigawa, which he said includes 27 LGAs.
