The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has announced plans to mobilize students for a nationwide protest against the ongoing fuel scarcity and erratic power supply in the country.CONTINUE READING HERE>>>
In a statement signed by NANS Senate President, Comrade Akinteye Afeez, and zonal coordinators, the association expressed its concern over the worsening situation, calling it “unbearable.”
The statement, endorsed by Comrade Bilal Lawal Kurfi (Zone A), Comrade Daniel Friday Egga (Zone C), Comrade Alao John (Zone D), Comrade Chidi Nzekwe (Zone F), and Comrade Bappa Hassan (Zone E), stated:
“We demand the immediate removal of Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), and Honorable Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister for Power. Their leadership has contributed to the crisis.”
The protest will take place across various zones of the country, including:
* Abuja Junction along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway
* Airport Road in Abuja
* Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
* Onitsha-Asaba Head Bridge
* Wuntin Dada along the Bauchi-Jos Road
NANS believes that the removal of Kyari and Adelabu is crucial to address the root causes of the crisis and alleviate the suffering of Nigerian citizens.
