Dr Dominic Alancha, while speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, April 12, 2026, made comments regarding the internal structure and legal standing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), particularly in relation to the faction associated with Nyesom Wike.
He argued that, from a legal standpoint, the Wike-led faction holds a significant position within the party’s framework and should be regarded as the authentic and operational wing of the PDP for all practical engagements by members.
According to him, the recognition of the faction goes beyond internal disagreements and is anchored in legal interpretation. He suggested that party members are not restricted from dealing with that group, as it represents the substantive structure of the PDP in the eyes of the law. This position, he implied, is important for understanding how party authority and legitimacy are determined within political disputes.
In his exact words, Dr Dominic Alancha stated: “In the eyes of the law, the Wike faction is the substantive PDP that anybody that is a member of the PDP can deal with.”
