BREAKING: Transfer:I am really happy to be part of this beautiful club -Chelsea’s New Signing, Maxence Lacroix

Chelsea’s new signing, Maxence Lacroix, says he is excited to begin a new chapter after completing his move from Crystal Palace.

According to a report by Vanguard on Thursday, July 30, 2026, The France defender joined the Blues in a deal reportedly worth £52 million and signed a six-year contract. He will now link up with the squad for pre-season under new manager Xabi Alonso.

Lacroix said joining Chelsea is a proud moment because of the club’s rich history and tradition of winning trophies. He also explained that after speaking with Alonso, he felt they shared the same ambition and vision for the team’s future.

The 26-year-old believes Chelsea have a talented squad and the quality needed to compete for major honours. He said the club’s goal is to win trophies and that he is eager to play his part in achieving that success.

Lacroix arrives at Stamford Bridge after making 98 appearances for Crystal Palace following his move from Wolfsburg in 2024. During his time at Palace, he helped the club win the FA Cup, the UEFA Conference League and the Community Shield.

The French international, who has earned seven caps for his country and featured at the recent World Cup, is one of several major signings made by Chelsea this summer. The club has also brought in Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa and Marco Palestra from Atalanta as Alonso continues to strengthen his squad for the new season.

In his words, “I am really happy to be part of this beautiful club. Everyone knows the legend of Chelsea, its tradition of winning, and to be a part of that is a proud moment, When I spoke with the manager, I saw that we have the same direction and desire for this club. We want to win. When you see the quality of the players here, everything we have around the club, it’s something that we can achieve. The ambition is to lift trophies, and I can’t wait to contribute.”
