According to a report by the Times of Israel on Thursday July 30, 2026, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says three of its members were killed following what it described as a US attack on Zanjan province in northwestern Iran.
The announcement was made by the IRGC’s provincial branch in a statement carried by Iran’s Tasnim news agency. According to the force, the casualties were members of the Ansar al-Mahdi unit based in Zanjan.
“In the brutal attack carried out by the terrorist regime of the criminal United States on 30 July 2026, three brave and devoted members of the Ansar al-Mahdi IRGC in Zanjan province… attained martyrdom,” the statement said.
The reported strike comes as military tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to intensify, with both sides exchanging attacks across multiple fronts in recent days.
No immediate response was issued by US officials regarding the Iranian claim, and the circumstances surrounding the reported strike could not be independently verified.
