JUST IN: FG Disowns Reports of 40% Peculiar Allowance Approval for Civil Servants

According to Daily Post Nigeria report on Thursday, May 13, 2026, the Federal Government has denied widespread reports alleging that it approved a 40 per cent peculiar allowance for federal civil servants. In a statement issued by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs Eno Olotu, described the claim as false, clarifying that no such approval was granted or officially communicated.

The clarification follows earlier announcements made on April 24, 2026, when the Head of the Civil Service unveiled a broader welfare package for federal workers.
