Amaechi: Whether He Accepts Being Number Two Or Not, They Need To Build The ADC Together – Ideho

In an interview on TVC News on Friday, May 29, 2026, following the ADC’s presidential primary election, Charles Ideho, head of station Jordan 105.5 FM, offered his thoughts on the party’s internal appeals for unity.

Despite differences stemming from the primaries’ results, Ideho emphasized the significance of party members working together, responding to comments associated with former transportation minister Rotimi Amaechi.

Speaking on the matter, Ideho stated, “Amaechi: Whether he accepts being number two or not, they need to build the ADC together.”

He noted that the statement reflects the urgent need for reconciliation within the opposition coalition as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Ideho claims that after primaries, political differences are inevitable; nevertheless, what really counts is whether or not party leaders can put their own aspirations aside and concentrate on creating a stronger platform that can compete on a national level.

Managing internal disputes while retaining unity ahead of a crucial electoral cycle is a challenge that the ADC, like many opposition parties, faces, he noted.

According to Ideho, the party’s prospects in upcoming elections may be greatly improved if Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi worked together, since they are both still powerful characters in the opposition.

He went on to say that a political platform’s capacity to keep discipline, structure, and collective purpose in check is just as important as the politicians running for office.

When asked about the ADC’s chances in the 2027 general election, Ideho said that the party should put an emphasis on unity rather than division, and that if internal disputes are not handled well and resolved quickly, they could hurt the party’s chances.
