Oyo: Bandits Put The Kids In A Car Trunk, They Offloaded Them At A River Bank & Burnt The Car—Witness

A witness, Kehinde Akintola, has recounted how armed kidnappers allegedly moved students after abducting them from a school in the Ahoro-Esiele community of Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, on May 16, 2026.

Speaking during an interview with News Central TV, Akintola explained that the attackers arrived at the school on motorcycles before carrying out the abduction. According to her, the gunmen also confiscated motorcycles belonging to residents and used them to transport some of the kidnapped pupils.

She further claimed that the assailants forced several of the children into the trunk of the school principal’s vehicle and drove away with them. Akintola said the vehicle was later taken to a riverside location, where the children were removed before the car was set ablaze.

Describing the incident, she said: “They pursued the children and captured them. The attackers came on motorcycles, not in cars. They also took motorcycles from people in the village and used them to convey some of the children. The principal’s vehicle was seized, and some of the children were placed inside the trunk. When they reached the river bank, they brought the children out and burned the vehicle.”

The account was shared in a video interview aired by News Central TV, with the relevant segment appearing between 2:53 and 3:26 of the broadcast.
