Former Labour Party spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo, has once again publicly criticized former Anambra State governor and the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
In a post shared on his X account, Okonkwo argued that recent comments made by Senator Seriake Dickson indicate that Obi does not wield significant influence within the National Democratic Coalition (NDC).
The actor-turned-politician has previously expressed dissatisfaction with some of Obi’s political decisions, repeatedly questioning the former governor’s strategic choices and leadership approach.
In his latest remarks, Okonkwo referenced an interview granted by Senator Seriake Dickson, whom he described as a leading figure within the NDC. According to him, the senator’s comments reinforced his long-held belief regarding Obi’s limited standing in the coalition.
Okonkwo further alleged that Obi and many of his supporters have become subordinate to the coalition’s leadership. He claimed that the NDC’s leading figure considers himself a stronger political option than other members of the group, a situation which, in his view, undermines Obi’s influence within the coalition.
The former Labour Party spokesman concluded his comments by directing readers to the statement he published on his official X account, where he elaborated on his position concerning Obi and the NDC.
